Budapest is the capital of Hungary and also the largest city. The cities of Buda and Pest occupy both banks of the river Danube and were unified in 1873 to become Budapest. Regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, its extensive World Heritage Site includes the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrássy Avenue, Heroes` Square and the Millennium Underground Railway
Truth be told, some of today`s Grand Prix drivers have criticized the Hungaroring, calling this narrow and tight track a karting circuit. Indeed it is tight, but the Hungarian Grand Prix configuration almost always makes for an entertaining race because driver skill and proper setup tend to be just as important as absolute power. For the race fan, the Hungarian Grand Prix is a bit like Monaco in that you never know ahead of time who`s going to be fast or who`s going to win.
Budapest is a magnificent city and a wonderful setting for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
